Abstract

Innovation is a key to the competitiveness of the European Industry. Ideation is considered as the first and very important stage of the innovation process and is oriented towards the discovery of ideas. Games can be considered to do the same, which leads to the suggestion to apply games in the ideation process. Players of such games are presented with information they have to interpret and interact with following the objective to identify new and valuable ideas. This paper presents the concept of a game to support disruptive idea generation. It is based on a concept called reframing the question, where an initial idea is reframed by a team. The team is provided with new viewpoints and new information is thrown to the players by an observing by an facilitator. First results contain a game scenario description, use case diagrams and a user interface mock-up.
