Prof. Dr. Gralf-Peter Calliess
Institute for Commercial Law
After studying law and social sciences at the University of Göttingen and the European University Institute in Florence, Gralf-Peter Calliess earned his doctorate in legal theory. He completed his habilitation at the Institute for Economic Law at the University of Frankfurt am Main and accepted a professorship in international and European private law at LMU Munich before moving to Bremen in 2007. Since 2013, he has been director of the Institute for Commercial Law and is a member of the technical and scientific advisory board of the Research Association for Maritime Law in the Bremen-Oldenburg metropolitan region in northwestern Germany.
