Prof. Dr. sc. ETH Julian Ferchow
BIBA – Bremen Institute for Production and Logistics
Ferchow studied mechanical engineering at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in 2014 and his master’s degree in 2016. His master’s program focused on product development and design. From 2017 to 2021, he worked as a research assistant at Inspire AG and earned his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering at ETH Zurich. His dissertation addressed industrial mass production using additive manufacturing processes, with a focus on post-processing strategies and component design. From 2021 to 2026, Julian Ferchow led the “Design for New Technologies” group at Inspire AG in Zurich. There, he focused on the industrialization of new technologies. At the same time, he served as a lecturer at ETH Zurich. Since October 2026, Julian Ferchow has held the professorship in “Product Development and Product Life Cycle Management” in the Department of Production Engineering at the University of Bremen. He is also a member of the executive board of BIBA—the Bremen Institute for Production and Logistics.
