Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Hans-Dietrich Haasis
University of Bremen
Hans-Dietrich Haasis studied industrial engineering at the University of Karlsruhe. After obtaining his doctorate in 1987 and his habilitation in 1993, also in Karlsruhe, he was appointed professor of business administration at the University of Bremen in 1994. From 1997 to 2014, he was full professor of general business administration, production management, and industrial management at the University of Bremen, and since 2015, he has been full professor of general business administration, maritime economics, and logistics. From 1998 to 2001, he was first spokesperson and then dean of the Department of Economics. In 2003, he received the B.A.U.M. Environmental Award. He is a founding member and was spokesperson for the Logistics Research Network at the University of Bremen from 2002 to 2005. From August 2001 to December 2014, he was director and head of the Logistics Systems Department and, from January 2007 to December 2014, chairman of the board of directors of the ISL – Institute of Shipping Economics and Logistics, Bremen. From 2012 to 2021, he was spokesperson for the IGS – International Graduate School for Dynamics in Logistics at the University of Bremen. He is a founding member and Chairman of the Board of the AGKN, Asian-German Knowledge Network for Transport and Logistics e.V. He is also an honorary doctor of the Kiev National Economic University, Ukraine, Distinguished Professor for Logistics Management and Engineering at Zhongyuan University of Technology in Zhengzhou, China, and Visiting Professor at the National Economics University in Hanoi, Vietnam. From October 2014 to March 2024, he was an appointed member of the Scientific Advisory Board to the Federal Minister for Digital and Transport.
