Prof. Dr. Matthias Klumpp

Matthias Klumpp studied economics and business administration at the universities of Leipzig, Strasbourg, and Berlin (HU), specializing in marketing, production, and finance. He earned his doctorate at the University of Leipzig with a thesis on risk management. In 2018, he qualified as a professor in business administration at the University of Duisburg-Essen with a thesis on “Time-lag Effects in DEA Productivity Analysis” and was appointed associate professor at the Technical University of Milan in 2022. In 2025, he accepted a professorship in retail and logistics management at the University of Bremen. Matthias Klumpp is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the BVL, Deputy Chairman of the Logistics Working Group of the VHB, and Senior Editor of the Journal of Business Logistics.
