Prof. Dr.-Ing. hab. Klaus-Dieter Thoben

Klaus-Dieter Thoben received his degree in mechanical engineering from the Technical University of Braunschweig and his doctorate in production engineering from the University of Bremen. From 2002, he was initially Professor of Information Technology Applications in Production at the Faculty of Production Engineering at the University of Bremen, and since 2008 he has been Professor of Integrated Product Development there. He is a member of the management board of BIBA – Bremen Institute for Production and Logistics. For over 30 years, he has been involved in research on ICT applications in production and logistics, as well as on product development and the life cycle of products and systems. From 2012 to 2022, he was spokesperson for the Bremen Research Cluster for Dynamics in Logistics (LogDynamics). His most important publications deal with the application of ICT (including AI) technologies in cooperative processes, with a focus on product-based innovations, product and service engineering, product lifecycle management, and collaborative enterprise networks.
