OVERHEAT: Innovations for combating and preventing fires on container ships
The OVERHEAT project was launched on January 1, 2024. Its goal is to develop innovative solutions for combating and preventing fires on container ships. To this end, the project relies on a digital solution that integrates IoT sensors and unmanned aerial systems (UAS) to enable comprehensive monitoring and rapid response in the event of an incident. The project marks a significant advance in safety and efficiency in the maritime transport industry and has the potential to shape the future of maritime transport in a sustainable way. The Institute of Shipping Economics and Logistics (ISL) and the University of Applied Sciences Bremerhaven are participating in the OVERHEAT project, which is funded by the European Union.
