SPorT-lich vernetzt – “Smartport Transfer” at the DATIpilot community meeting in Leipzig from November 11 to 12, 2025

On November 11 and 12, 2025, the Bremen innovation community “Smartport Transfer” (SPorT) exchanged ideas with 19 other innovation communities in Leipzig as part of the DATIpilot community meeting organized by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology, and Space (BMFTR). In a variety of workshops, exhibitions, and moderated formats, we gained valuable insights, discussed new perspectives, and networked intensively with the other communities and the project management agency Jülich (PTJ). Our demonstrator from joint projects with Aimpulse Intelligent Systems GmbH and bremenports GmbH & Co. KG – an innovative, AI-based assistance system to support ship docking maneuvers in the port – was well received by the audience.

The Bremen innovation community SPorT brings science and industry together to advance the ports of Bremen through digitalization and automation. Coordinated by a consortium of the University of Bremen/LogDynamics, the Institute of Shipping Economics and Logistics (ISL), and bremenports, SPorT promotes innovative solutions for optimizing port processes and networking ship and hinterland transport.
