When Brushstrokes Meet Algorithms

A large-scale facade artwork captivates with its geometric shapes: rectangles of varying sizes and colors that are interwoven with one another. Is it just an unusual pattern, or is there more to it? What do the facades convey when Bremen’s downtown becomes an open-air gallery?

As one of the 11 partners of Mural City, the LogDynamic research consortium brings scientific perspectives to art under the motto “Beauty of Science” and makes research visible.

On August 19, in front of the building at Fehrfeld 43, Simon Leohold from BIBA gave an engaging keynote presentation on the AutoLog project. He explained the development of autonomous driving processes as well as dynamic warehousing and logistics concepts at automotive terminals. Bremen-based artist Edeltraut Rath directly incorporates these ideas into her work—a mural that will adorn the city center and translate research into patterns and color.

When brushstrokes meet algorithms, something new emerges: science that is visible, accessible, and inspiring.
