Hands-On Logistics Research: Smartport Solutions Impress Visitors at Open Campus

Insights into logistics research and hands-on technology to explore and test—our offerings at the University of Bremen’s Open Campus on June 13, 2026, were very well received. During our guided tour, “Innovations for the Port of the Future,” held in the BIBA shop floor lab—the Bremen Institute for Production and Logistics—we demonstrated how close collaboration between academia and industry transforms ideas into market-ready logistics solutions.

Visitors of all ages were able to experience how sensor technology, automated systems, and drones are transforming the ports of Bremen into true smart ports. In addition, the Smartport Transfer (SPorT) project presented innovative maritime applications and provided an opportunity for questions and discussion.
