2026 WGAB Dissertation Award for Dr.-Ing. Christoph Petzoldt

On September 12, 2026, our former employee and department head, Dr.-Ing. Christoph Petzoldt, was awarded the Dissertation Prize by the Scientific Society for Work and Business Organization (WGAB) for his dissertation titled “Dynamic Task Allocation for Human-Robot Collaboration in Assembly.”

The award ceremony took place during the 2026 WGAB Research Seminar in Bochum.

The dissertation was written during his time at BIBA and addressed the question of how assembly tasks can be distributed dynamically and contextually in human-robot collaboration. The goal was to make targeted use of the potential of both humans and robots, thereby making assembly processes more flexible and efficient.

Christoph Petzoldt earned his Ph.D. at BIBA under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Michael Freitag of the University of Bremen. The second reviewer of his dissertation was Prof. Dr. Jochen Deuse of TU Dortmund University.
